Crazy Faith Street Ministry began in July of 2017. I saw so many people in the Pueblo area that were hurting and in need. I wondered why there so many people in Pueblo walking around on the streets? Some holding cardboard signs, some sitting and rocking, some drunk or maybe even passed out, Many homeless, many struggling with addictions, many hungry, many with mentalillnesses, many wanting work, many needing help. I asked myself “Can something be done to help these people?” Why do so many people just pass them by? Why? Don't they see them? Are they invisible? Aren’t they people too? Aren’t they important? Don’t they matter? Well the answer that I kept coming up with is, Yes! They are people and they matter just as much as I do, not any less. They are someone’s son or daughter. I decided I wanted to try to help them. So on a Sunday morning me and a friend of mine went to the streets and started talking to the people that we would meet, majority of them homeless. Most welcome the conversation and are happy to have someone to talk to. Someone to show them compassion. So for the last year, I have spent much energy and countless hours, building relationships with them, getting to know them and their needs. Meeting with them, sharing food and meals with them, giving rides, showers, helping them obtain employment & housing, encouraging them in sobriety, buying them food and clothing. Getting some into treatment centers. Along the way, during this time I have had a few faithful friends and family members come along side to help. We disciple those we meet. We help them integrate back into society.
IN THE LAST 5 YEARS, WE HAVE HELPED OVER 327 PEOPLE GET OFF THE STREETS!!!!
Is it hard? Yes! But we love what we do. And when you see the look in the eyes of those that you have helped, the smiles on their faces, and you know you helped make a difference in their life, it is worth every hour! Every dollar!! We are not only making a difference, we are helping to save lives!! And to that I say "Praise God!"
